Game on for Christ! (Devotional)

Phyllis Nissila

My sister, daughter, and I have been discussing end-times-like events headlining the press, Internet, and airwaves. Not good.

Such news, foretold centuries ago (Matthew chapter 24, first part), affirms mankind’s increasing self-implosion. We’ve reached, it seems, a moral tipping point: too many breaking bad, not as many building good.

But even with the encouragement that a sudden reversal of the trend awaits us, also noted in the Matthew text (last part), the increase of distress still generates stress.

This is where I insert a reminder from my sister: “Whatever hastens His coming” and a heads-up from my daughter: “Game over for the world, game on for Christ!”

Soon and very soon!

    Game on is right! We are gearing up for the greatest “Super Bowl” of all time. The difference is, we all know the Winner already. Though there will be a lot of hardship and heartache along the way, I think it’s time for a tailgate party. Don’t you? We’d better get those invitations and tickets out in hurry. 🙂

      Amen! My sister and I were just now talking about this on the phone, in a way. As never before, it’s time to be about our “appointed tasks” in order to get the Word out while we yet may. She also shared this: Jesus is probably getting very excited about the prospect of seeing His “bride” soon. Now there’s a very encouraging perspective, too, don’t you think?! 🙂
      Cheers!

    Yes! Come Lord Jesus!!!
    Reminds me of Isaiah 60:
    “Arise, shine; for your light has come,
    And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
    2 “For behold, darkness will cover the earth
    And deep darkness the peoples;
    But the Lord will rise upon you
    And His glory will appear upon you.
    3 “Nations will come to your light,
    And kings to the brightness of your rising.
